About FAR
Graduate Programme 2022/23
FAR provides graduate training for one graduate interested in a career within the arable industry. Our 18 month Graduate Programme has been specifically designed to introduce all aspects of the industry from research and agronomy to marketing.
Are you a graduate with a degree in science, agriculture or agricultural commerce, looking for a career working with some of the world's best cropping farmers?
We are offering the opportunity to:
- Learn about all aspects of the New Zealand cropping industry.
- Be involved in field research from design to results' analysis.
- Spend time with experienced agronomists and internationally recognised researchers.
- Make connections in the cropping industry throughout New Zealand.
FAR's 18 month Graduate Programme provides ample time to get involved in planning, carrying out and analysing a range of arable research projects, and to spend time with cropping businesses across New Zealand. A competitive salary is offered.
At the end of the programme, you will have developed a good knowledge of all the factors driving the New Zealand arable industry, good research skills and a clear idea of how you see your career progressing within it. There is no guarantee of employment with FAR at the end of the programme, however, all of our previous graduates have found employment within the industry.
Download the application form here. Include a cover letter outlining why you are interested in this programme, copies of your academic transcripts and the names of at least two referees (one should be from a course lecturer/supervisor) and return it to Melanie.Bond@far.org.nz. Applications close Sunday 15 August 2021.
